About

Skilled Creative Freelancer with 15 Years' Experience in Communications
I found my passion for communications and marketing while taking an introductory class on public relations, sparking a desire to devote my career to strategic communications.
In my 15+ years, I’ve been able to work for a variety of organizations of differing sizes and scopes, which allowed me to wear different hats and tackle a multitude of unique projects. I moved to the Washington, DC area after graduating from Elon University and was able to work at two non-profit associations that specialized in the trades. Being part of a smaller team meant I was able to tackle high-level projects early in my career and take on responsibilities tailored towards senior management. I was able to work on advocacy outreach, magazine publishing, media relations, event marketing, event planning, media buying, and more.

After spending several years in DC, I moved to Charlotte, NC to pursue a unique career opportunity at Charlotte Country Club, where I would be the sole communications professional, overseeing all strategy and projects. In my 10 years at the club, I was able to completely overhaul and grow the existing communications program. I redesigned the club website and helped develop an accompanying mobile app, while introducing social media, branding guidelines, newsletters, video-marketing, and a quarterly magazine. I have spearheaded multiple marketing strategies including a campaign to increase member buy-in for a multi-million dollar renovation project, a recruiting campaign to hire more qualified team members, and an ongoing campaign to position Charlotte Country Club as a leader in the hospitality industry as well as the most exclusive and desirable club in the Carolinas.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time on Mountain Island Lake with my husband and son. I love kayaking and being out in nature, and I’m still trying to get the hang of wake surfing. One of my favorite pastimes is planning trips and researching new destinations to explore…especially the food scene!
I’d be happy to work with you on your communications and marketing needs.
